Where to begin? It all started back in Calgary in the early 80's. My son at the time was into martial arts and the owner of the gym had two of these magnificant creatures. I would go and watch my son during his lessons but, I think I spent more time admiring the two bouviers. I knew in my heart then, that I would one day be blessed with my own bouvier. Many years came and went and after much searching we finally brought our first beloved Bouv home.

Today, my family and I share our home with five wonderful bouviers and a lone barbet. I am a very small breeder, usually having one very rarely two litters a year. My family, all 12 of us (dogs included) live on 10 acres of forest in Roberts Creek, BC. All my dogs are house dogs and beloved family pets. You are welcome to come by and visit with me and my dogs as I love to show them off. Please just call first to make sure I'm home and not at a dog or horse show.

My responsibility as a breeder, first and foremost is to the betterment of the breed. That is why I imported two of our bouviers and our barbet from Holland. Temperament, health then beauty is what my breeding program is all about. To that end, each dog being considered for breeding is 5 star health tested (Eyes, Heart, Thyroid, Hips and Elbows). Only those dogs passing all five health tests are used in my breeding program. I prefer the European look and as such I breed to the FCI standard.

My companion puppies are sold on non-breeding contracts and are health guaranteed. You can also count on me to support you and your puppy until death do you part. Additionally, I take finding Bouv worthy homes very seriously, so all potential buyers are asked to complete my Puppy Questionnaire.

I am a member in good standing with the Alberta Bouvier des Flandres Club and the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC). My kennel name Breugel is registered with CKC as well.

I am a retired computer geek so naturally I have to do everything myself. Yes, including this website. Please be patient as there never seems to be enough time in the day to get to it. Ear Cropping

Did you know it's illegal in Europe to do cosmetic surgery on dogs? Here at Breugel our dogs and puppies come first and as such we will not crop ears nor will we sell a puppy to anyone wanting cropped ears.

Please join our plight and say NO to ear cropping.
